Tech Note 2: Mid-Year Model Change
The Ford F250 underwent a major, mid-year model change in 1977 effective with serial number Y20001. Regular Cab F250 4x4s built before serial number Y20001 are "high boy" models with remote mount transfer cases and Dana 44 front axles with bolt-on type hub locks or drive flanges. 1977 regular cab 4x4s built after serial number Y20000 are "low boy" models with direct mount transfer cases and Dana 44 front axles with internal spline mount hub locks or drive gears.

Tech Note 3: Anti-Seize
To prevent corrosion, apply S9975 or S81343 Anti-Seize Compound to the spindle and knuckle mating surfaces.
