Tech Note 1: Single Use Parts
QU40118 Spindle Nuts and QU40089 Spindle Nut Lock Wedges are "Single Use", genuine Dana Spicer original equipment components. These parts are designed to be installed once and only once! For safety reasons, you must discard both the nut and wedge if they are removed from the spindle for any reason. Both parts lose a percentage of their resistance to coming off when they are removed. You may hear of cases where this type of factory nut has come off while the truck was being driven. Invariably, these failures involve nuts and wedges that have been reused. I am not aware of a single instance of a properly installed new nut and wedge coming off like that. In my opinion, the original equipment nut design is as safe to use as our double nut sets as long as you follow the rules.

Tech Note 2: Seal Leaks
Many wheel seal leaks are caused by improper wheel bearing adjustment (For Dodge, See TSB4008).
