QU40083 Left Side Inner Axle Shaft Seal for 1985-1987 Dodge and 1982-1984 Jeep Dana 44 CAD Front Axles is 1-31/32" ID Oil Seal that gets installed at the outboard end of the driver's side axle housing tube on 182-1984 Jeep and 1985-*1987 Dodge Dana 44 front drive axles equipped with a vacuum controlled Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) system. QU40083 fits CAD front axles on 1985 to 1987 Plymouth Trailduster, Dodge Ramcharger, Dodge W-150, Dodge W-250 4x4s, and 1982 to 1984 Jeep Full Size Wagoneer, Cherokee, J10 4x4 vehicles. Made in U.S.A. or Mexico.

Tech Note 1: Right Side Seal
QU40083 can be replaced without removing the differential from the axle. However, if you also need to replace the RIGHT Side Seal, the differential will need to be removed. The RIGHT side seal for Dodge and Jeep J10 or the Wide-Track Jeep Cherokee is QU40159. Use QU40160 for the RIGHT side inner axle seal on Jeep Wagoneer and Narrow Track Jeep Cherokee.
Tech Note 2: Matching Support Bearing
The matching Left Axle Shaft Support Bearing is QU50155.
Tech Note 3: Before Installing
To provide initial lubrication, apply petroleum jelly or other suitable lubricant to the seal lips before installing the axle shaft.
