QU40051 2" Tabbed Spindle Nut Lock Washer for Dana 60, Dana 70 Axles

QU40051 Bend Over Tab 2" ID Spindle Lock Washer with Wide Key Tab fits 2" diameter spindles that use hex nuts measuring either 2-1/2" (QU40052) or 2-9/16" (QU11070) across the flats. This genuine original equipment, non reusable, Dana Spicer washer was used on a number of Dana Spicer front and rear drive axle applications from the 1950s to as late as 1991. ID Key tab is approximately 1/4" wide. Washer is about .075" thick. Sold Individually. Order 2 per axle. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Outer Tab Placement 
Typically, one lockwasher tab is bent over a flat on the inner nut and either one or two are bent over flats on the outer nut.

Tech Note 2: Not Reusable!
Customer Statement: "Nonreusable? Dan what are you talking about? I always reuse them until all the tabs break off!" Well guys, for safety reasons, these lock washers must be discarded after every use. That means any time you bend up a tab to readjust or remove the spindle nuts. Why? Metal fatigue. The outer lock tabs lose some of their strength after they are straightened out. Also, the inside tab that fits in the spindle keyway has a tendency to shear when the outer nut is tightened against it more than one time. Reusing a bend over tab lockwasher may save you a few dollars, but by doing so you might kill yourself and others when you lose a hub and wheel going 75 mph down the interstate.
