QU40004 4x4 Front, 4 Slot Inner Spindle Nut with Pin is a genuine original equipment part for many Dana 30 (Ford Bronco) Dana 44 (All Makes), GM 10 Bolt (Chevy/GMC) and 1973-1977 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Dana 60 closed knuckle front drive axles. This nut was used as the inner spindle nut on most SUV's, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton Chevy, Ford, and GMC trucks with serviceable wheel bearings from the late 1950's to the early 1990's. Dodge used it from 1969-1974 and 1980 to 1993, Jeep J-series full size 4x4s had it from 1973-1989. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Thread Diameter
QU40004 Spindle Nut fits spindles with thread diameters of 1-5/8".
Tech Note 2: Pin Engagement
The pin that protrudes from the outboard face is an anti-rotation device that engages with one of the holes in either QU40060 or QU40429 Spindle Lock Washers. Installing the lock washer without having the pin engage one of the holes will either break or bend the pin. Improperly installed nuts and washer sets can back off during vehicle operation and possibly cause the hub and wheel assembly to fall off which may lead to severe injury or death.
Tech Note 3: Socket
Use with QT1012i or QT1025 Spindle Nut Sockets. The spindle nut tightening procedure and torque specification varies widely depending upon the year and model. Consult a factory shop manual for your vehicle.
