Tech Note 1: Always Replace
Always replace the cup and cone at the same time. TK30642 includes 1 each: TK11836 Outer Wheel Bearing Cup and TK11833 Outer Wheel Bearing
Tech Note 2: Cup Installation Tools
You new TK11836 Outer Wheel Bearing Cup is a precision machined component that must be properly installed for both safety and longevity. Our optional QT1833 Bearing Cup Installer is specifically made to install QK11836 bearing cups without damaging either the cup or hub. Use QT1833 in conjunction with one of our 5/8" tip Driver Handles:
QT1100 1" x 8"
QT1101 1" x 14"
QT1116 1-1/4" x 8" (Recommended)
QT1119 1-1/4" x 14"
Tech Note 3: Grease
To obtain maximum life from a wheel bearing, it must be properly lubricated. The long term wheel bearing lubrication is provided by oil from the differential that flows down the axle tubes and get trapped in the wheel hubs, however, the bearings must be lubricated to provide initial lubrication until oil from the diff works it's way down. Coat the inside hub and bearing cup surfaces with 75w85 synthetic axle lubricant. Pack the bearings with a clean NLGI #2 disc brake approved wheel bearing grease.
