Tech Note 1: Single Use Part
Axle Shaft Flange Gaskets are intended for a single use. To minimize the chance of oil leaks always replace axle shaft flange gaskets any time the axle shafts are removed.
Tech Note 2: Before Installation
Before installation, clean the axle shaft and hub mating surfaces. Do not use a sealant with this gasket except to fill in deep gouges in a mating surface.
Tech Note 3: 1991-Prior Axles
QU30108 Composition Axle Shaft Flange Gasket only fits 1992 and newer axles. If you have a 1991 or older GM 14 Bolt 10.5" full float rear axle, order QU30010 Steel Axle Shaft Flange Gasket.

Tech Note 5: GM-AAM
General Motors sold it's Final Drive and Forge (Axle and Driveshaft) unit in 1994 to a group of investors who named their new acquisition American Axle Manufacturing (AAM). The new company built then and largely builds today the same axles as previously made by GM. AAM currently builds almost all the IFS front axles and rear beam axles for GM SUVs and light trucks.
