Applications
Tech Note 1: Seal Installer
QU30102 Wheel Seal is an oil bath type Seal in which the outer part of the seal which is fixed in the hub rotates around the inner part of the seal which is fixed on the spindle. Although very effective and long-lived, this type of seal can be easily damaged by using makeshift tools during installation. The use of QT1523 Axle Seal Installer is STRONGLY recommended to prevent inadvertent seal damage during installation.
Tech Note 2: Seal Leaks
Many wheel seal leaks are caused by pressure building in axle due to a clogged axle vent system. Always check and clear the vent system. Another common cause of leaking seals is improper wheel bearing adjustment.

Tech Note 4: GM-AAM
General Motors sold it's Final Drive and Forge (Axle and Driveshaft) unit in 1994 to a group of investors who named their new acquisition American Axle Manufacturing (AAM). The new company built then and largely builds today the same axles as previously made by GM. AAM currently builds almost all the IFS front axles and rear beam axles for GM SUVs and light trucks.
