Applications
Tech Note 1: 1972-older GM
This 4-1/8" long coupler will not work on 1972 and prior GM trucks with either the Turbo 350 or 27 spline Turbo 400 automatic transmission. These older trucks use a longer coupler which is no longer available.
Tech Note 2: Includes Snap Ring
QU30001 includes the center locating snap ring that keeps the coupler fully engaged on both the transmission output shaft and transfer case input shaft.
Tech Note 3: Inspect Shaft Splines
Spline Couplers rarely break, but internal spline wear is fairly common. If your coupler splines are worn there is a good chance the matching shaft spline is also worn. Installing a new Coupler on a worn shaft will only be a short-term fix as the worn shaft splines will quickly wreck the coupler splines.
