QU20351 1977.5-1987.5 F250 8 Bolt Hub and Rotor with 1/2" Studs is a brand new hub and rotor assembly with eight 1/2" wheel studs. QU20351 fits 1977.5-1979 F250 trucks with Dana 44 solid beam front axles and 1980-1987.5 F250 4x4 trucks with Dana 44IFS front axles. QU20351 includes factory installed inner and outer bearing cups.

Tech Note 1: Includes Cups
QU20351 includes new Timken® wheel bearing cups. Do not use your old wheel bearings with this hub. Order and install Install new QU50448 Timken® Outer Wheel Bearing, QU50412 Timken® Inner Wheel Bearing, and QU90001 Wheel Seal.

Tech Note 2: 1977 Design Change
The Ford F250 underwent a major, mid-year model change in 1977 effective with serial number Y20001. Regular Cab F250 4x4s built before serial number Y20001 are "high boy" models with remote mount transfer cases and Dana 44 front axles with bolt-on type hub locks or drive flanges. 1977 regular cab 4x4s built after serial number Y20000 are "low boy" models with direct mount transfer cases and Dana 44 front axles with internal spline mount hub locks or drive gears.

Tech Note 3: 1978-1979 F-250
The standard front axle on 1978-1979 Ford F-250 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks is a 3800 pound rated Dana 44 solid beam type front axle with internally splined wheel hubs. The end of the wheel hub measures about 3-5/8" in diameter and the spindle thread is 1-5/8". A 4500 pound rated Dana 60 was optional on 1978-1979 F-250 models. The optional Dana 60 will have a front wheel hub that measures about 4-1/8" at the outer end and a 2" spindle thread.

Tech Note 4: 1980-1987 F-250
The standard front axle on 1980-1987 Ford F-250 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks is a 3800/3850 pound rated Dana 44 Independent Front Suspension (IFS) front axle with internally splined wheel hubs. The end of the wheel hub measures about 3-5/8" in diameter and the spindle thread is 1-5/8". A 4600 pound rated Dana 50IFS axle was optional for the F250. The optional Dana 50 will have a front wheel hub that measures about 4-1/8" at the outer end and the spindle will have 2" threads.

Tech Note 5: Pack Bearings
Before installing your new wheel bearings, pack them with QU90018 Pyroplex® grease or other quality, disc brake rated, NLGI Grade 2 wheel bearing grease. I recommend you use QT5500 Wheel Bearing Packer to pack the bearings, but however you pack the bearings, your grease has to be clean and it MUST fill all the air spaces under the cage and between the bearing rollers.

Tech Note 6: Seal Installer
For best results, install a new wheel seal (QU90001) with QT1502 Seal Installer. QT1502 installer will not damage, ding, or bend the wheel seal and it keeps tension on the seal garter spring so the spring does not jump off the lip (a very common problem with makeshift seal installation methods).
