Applications
Tech Note 1: Limited Supply
TKA20252 was only used in 1961 to 1975 Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles. Parts production for almost all parts specific to these axles ended decades ago. If you need a Spindle for your vintage 4x4, you better get it now as our supply on unique parts for these axles is very limited.
Tech Note 2: Verify Your Axle
For GM applications, TKA20252 fits both standard and heavy-duty Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles. Ford offered both standard 3300 pound capacity and optional heavy duty 3500 pound capacity Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles for 1961-1975 F250 4x4s. Except for differential components, very few parts are interchangeable between the standard and heavy-duty Ford Dana 44 axles. There are two easy ways to visually identify which axle you have. The standard, 3300 lb. axle has on internally splined front wheel hub that is about 3-1/2" in diameter at the outer end. This axle will also have an 8 bolt ball seal on the back side of the steering knuckle. The optional, 3500 lb. Dana 44HD axle has a 4-1/2" diameter wheel hub drilled and tapped for six 3/8" bolts used to attach an external mount lockout or drive flange. The HD axle also has a 12 bolt ball seal on the backside of the knuckle.
Tech Note 3: Pre-Lube
Pre-lube the inside of the spindle bushing with some clean grease before installing the spindle to provide initial lubrication.
Tech Note 4: No Gasket
No gasket or sealant was used by the factory to seal between the Spindle and Steering Knuckle. If you were experiencing some lubricant seepage between the two parts, it is acceptable to apply a thin film of RTV sealant to one of the cleaned Knuckle/Spindle mating surfaces before installing your new Spindle.

Finally one that fits
I have a closed knuckle Dana 44 HD in my 73 Ford F-250 high boy. It was very difficult to get a replacement. This one fits, has a bushing installed, is a nice looking piece and was shipped fast.
