Description
QU20103 Metric 12 Point Driveshaft Bolt for 1980-2018 Ford is a high strength, grade 12.9, hardened, High-Torque 12 point bolt with factory applied threadlocking compound. This Bolt replaces weak, worn, damaged or missing driveshaft flange to axle or transfer case flange bolts on a multitude of 1980-2018 Ford truck and SUV Front CV Driveshaft and Rear Driveshaft applications up to F-550 size. 12mm, 12 Point Head resists rounding off even under corrosive conditions. QU20103 replaces both 6 Point and 12 Point Ford OEM fasteners. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Strength
Our QU20103 Metric Grade 12.9 bolts are rated at 176,000 psi minimum ultimate tensile strength which is higher than American inch sized Grade 8 bolts which are good to 150,000 psi.
Tech Note 2: Wrench
You need a GOOD 12mm, 12 point wrench to remove and install the driveshaft flange bolts on Ford trucks. Although the recommended torque may vary somewhat by year and model, it is typically fairly high for the size of the fastener. For instance, the 2008 Ford Super Duty Workshop Manual shows a torque 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) to attach a a one piece rear driveshaft to the transfer case output flange and rear axle pinion flange.
Tech Note 3: Alternate Hex Head Bolt
If you prefer a 6 point Hex Head Bolt instead of a 12 point, order QU20720.
