The publication is specific to 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4x4 trucks with the Dana-Spicer Model 60 Front Drive Axle. However, it is equally applicable to 1994-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and 1994-1997 Light Duty Ram 2500 4x4 trucks with the Dana-Spicer Model 44 Front Drive Axle, with the exception of the number of hub retaining bolts (3 instead of 4), and the slip-off brake rotor used on the lighter trucks. Tech Note 1: Available Seal Took Kits
Due to the restricted work area and tight fit of the seals, it is very difficult to install these seals without the correct tools we make for our TS4620 and QK4620 Tool Kits. The QU40105 Right Side Seal is located at the center of the right axle tube, so differential removal is NOT required if you are only servicing the right seal. QU40159 Left Side Seal replacement on these vehicles DOES require removing the differential from the housing.
