QU15004 Flat Tab Spindle Lock Washer with Narrow Key Tab is a genuine New Old Stock (NOS) original equipment non-reusable Bend Over Tab Spindle Lock Washer that fits front and rear applications on 1950's to mid 1970's 3/4 ton, 1 ton, and 1-1/4 ton Dodge, International and Jeep trucks with 2" spindle threads, narrow key slots, and regular hex spindle nut that measure either 2-1/2" or 2-9/16" across the flats. ID Key tab is approximately 3/16" wide. Washer is about 0.088" thick. USA Made. Very Limited Supply. Sold Individually. Order 2 per axle.

Applications

Tech Note 1: Tabs
Typically, one lockwasher tab is bent over a flat on the inner nut and either one or two are bent over flats on the outer nut.

Tech Note 2: Non-Reuseable
Customer Statement: "Nonreusable? Dan what are you talking about? I always reuse them until all the tabs break off!" Well guys, for safety reasons, these lock washers must be discarded after every use. That means any time you bend up a tab to readjust or remove the spindle nuts. Why? Metal fatigue. The outer lock tabs lose some of their strength after they are straightened out. Also, the inside tab that fits in the spindle keyway has a tendency to shear when the outer nut is tightened against it more than one time. Reusing a bend over tab lockwasher may save you a few dollars, but by doing so you might kill yourself and others when you lose a hub and wheel going 75 mph down the Interstate. Don't risk it!
