Tech Note 1: Always Replace
Always replace the cup and cone at the same time. The matching bearing cup is TK11836. Both TK11836 cup and TK 11833 Bearing are available together in TK30642 Cup and Cone Set.
Tech Note 2: Cup Installation Tools
The matching TK11836 Outer Wheel Bearing Cup is a precision machined component that must be properly installed for both safety and longevity. Our optional QT1833 Bearing Cup Installer is specifically made to install QK11836 bearing cups without damaging either the cup or hub. Use QT1833 in conjunction with one of our 5/8" tip Driver Handles:
QT1100 1" x 8"
QT1101 1" x 14"
QT1116 1-1/4" x 8" (Recommended)
QT1119 1-1/4" x 14"
Tech Note 3: Grease
To obtain maximum life from a wheel bearing, it must be properly lubricated. The long term wheel bearing lubrication is provided by oil from the differential that flows down the axle tubes and get trapped in the wheel hubs, however, the bearings must be lubricated to provide initial lubrication until oil from the diff works it's way down. Coat the inside hub and bearing cup surfaces with 75w85 synthetic axle lubricant. Pack the bearings with a clean NLGI #2 disc brake approved wheel bearing grease.
