QU11238 Input Bearing Retainer for 1994-2004 Dodge NV4500HD Transmissions is a bare, replacement part that fits all New Venture NV4500HD 5 speed Manual Transmissions in 1994-2004 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with Cummins Diesel or gas V10 engines. Matching 10 spline input shaft will be 1-1/4" in diameter. QU11238 is a bare, finished casting, it does NOT include QU10125 Input Bearing Cup and QU10126 Input Seal. Imported.

Pilot for the transmission case 4.1".

Tech Note 2: Replaces
QU11238 replaces original equipment QU10042 Input Bearing Retainer. QU11238 will fit all Dodge and 1996 and newer GM NV4500 transmission cases. The original application is NV4500HD 5 speed manual transmissions in 1994-2004 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with Diesel or V10 engines. The matching input shaft (QU10076 or QU10199) will be 1-1/4" x 10 spline.
Tech Note 3: Sealants
Early production NV4500 Transmissions used an anerobic sealant (QU90003) to seal between the main case and bearing retainer. Later production transmissions used black RTV Sealant (QU90006 or QU90005). Either type of sealant works fine, but I prefer RTV for this application. Regardless of which sealant you use, make sure excess sealant does not block the lube access hole at the top of pilot that fits into the transmission case. Also, the threaded holes in the main case for the four retainer bolts are open ended, so you must use new bolts with factory applied theadlocker (QU10100) or apply Threadlocker (S24200) to your exsisting bolts to prevent oil seepage past the bolt threads. Tech Note 4: Lubricate
Before installing your Clutch Release Bearing (QU51002), apply a very thin flim of tacky grease to the retainer snout. This lube, combined with grease on the inside of the release bearing casting will reduce clutch pedal effort and wear on the snout.
Tech Note 5: Installer Tools
Use QT1801 Bearing Cup to install and fully seat QU10125 Timken High Performance Input Bearing Cup into QU11238 Retainer. Use QT2005 Bearing/Seal Installer to install QU10126 Input Seal. See my TM1003 NV4500 Shop Manual or V1003DVD NV4500 Overhaul Video for more information.
