QU11096 Basic Pinion Depth or Differential Shim Kit

QU11096 Basic Pinion Depth or Differential Shim Kit is a basic selection of aftermarket pinion depth or differential adjusting shims that fit between the either the inner pinion bearing cup and case (Dana 50 front axle), Inner Pinion Bearing and pinion head for pinion depth adjustment (GM or Dodge AAM 11.5 rear axles) or differential bearing and differential case (Dana 60, 70, 80) to adjust for gear backlash and differential bearing preload. Fits 11-1/2" rear axles in GM 2001-up and Dodge 2003-up.

Tech Note 1: Kit Includes
QU11096 Basic Shim Kit typically includes 10 shims ranging from approximately 0.005" to 0.020" thick. While quite inexpensive compared to AAM or Dana original equipment Shim Kits, the limited number of Shims and Shim sizes can make it difficult to correctly adjust your diff unless you order 2 Kits.

Tech Note 2: Replacing Bearings
When replacing differential bearings, you MUST check the ring gear to pinion gear backlash with a dial indicator. Rebearing service procedures and backlash specifications are covered in my TM4400 Pinion and Differential Bearing Service on Dana-Spicer Monobeam Axles Technical Manual.
