Tech Note 1: Replace
Replace any Diff Adjuster Nut with damaged threads or that have worn by the bearing cup.

Tech Note 2: Diff Bearing Caps
Quite often people wreck one or both Diff Adjuster Nut threads when bolting down improperly installed Diff Bearing Caps. Differential Bearing Caps are line bored and can not be reversed or installed upside down without alignment problems. Always mark the left and right Diff Bearing Caps BEFORE removal. When installing the Caps, first lightly oil the threads, then verify you have the caps installed in the correct locations and the threads mesh with the Adjuster Nuts.

Tech Note 3: Adjuster Tool
Use QT1045 Adjuster Tool to loosen or tighten your Diff Adjuster Nuts. The large hex head on the Tool will engage the hex hole in the nuts.
