QU11019 Dodge NV271D, NV273D Transfer Case Mounting Stud is a genuine original equipment New Venture Threaded Stud that is identical to the parts used in production NV271D and NV273D transfer cases. Six of these corrosion resistant Studs thread into the tapped holes in your New Process/New Venture NV271D Manual Shift or NV273D Electric shift front case half. Six Studs are used to bolt your transfer case to your transmission rear housing. Overall length of QU11019 is 2-7/64"+/-. 10mm Coarse Thread thread length (goes into case) is 13/16"+/-. 3/8" Fine Thread thread length (for nut) is 1"+/-. Sold individually. USA made.

Tech Note 1: Prep and Installation
Apply S9978 or S24200 Threadlocker to the coarse threads before installing the Studs into the transfer case. Use either a Stud Install Tool or install and jam double nuts on fine thread end. Install Stud until approximately 1-1/4" combined length of shoulder and thread protrudes from front of case. Do NOT install Stud too deep by screwing it in until shoulder jams into case threads!

Tech Note 3: NPG-NVG-MPT
When Ford (1999 models) and Dodge (2003 models) first used NV271 and NV273 transfer cases, New Process Gear (NPG) of East Syracuse N.Y. was part of New Venture Gear (NVG). When NVG dissolved, NPG continued on under Chrysler. Chrysler subsequently sold the production rights to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any 271F, 271D, 273D, and 273F transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless of it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.

Too short
The threads aren't long enough, the unthreaded center is too shot too. Terrible quality for such an expensive piece. Note from Torque King: We take customer reviews very seriously. In this case, we determined the customer incorrectly installed the Studs all the way to the shoulder. This was our fault since we did not have any install tips on the QU11019 product page. In response, we have added installation instructions and pictures of QU11019 factory installed in brand new NV271D/NV273D transfer cases.
