New Process/New Venture
Applications
Tech Note 1: Closest to the Transmission
QU10900 is the front (closest to the transmission) planetary thrust washer for Dodge and Ford NP271 manual shift transfer cases and Chevy/GMC, Dodge, and Ford NP273 electric shift transfer cases.
Tech Note 2: New Process/New Venture
There is always some confusion over the New Process (NP) and New Venture (NV) brand names. New Venture was a joint venture between Chrysler and General Motors that merged Chrysler's New Process Gear and GM's Muncie Manual Transmission Plant. During the merger and after it dissolved, all the transfer case production took place at the New Process East Syracuse, New York plant which closed down in 2010. All the cases had a New Process metal build tag regardless if the vehicle manufacturer choose to call it an NP or NV model, the parts for a given application are exactly the same.
