Description
QU10602 Self Locking Tie Rod or Drag Link Nut For safety reasons, you MUST replace the nonreusable, self-locking factory nuts securing the tie rod and drag link ends. This type of nut was designed as a single use item and it may fail if reused. So anytime you disconnect a factory Dodge tie rod or drag link end such as when doing Ball Joint service, replace the old part with one of these new genuine original equipment nuts and then tighten it using the procedure spelled out in the Dodge Factory Shop Manual. We include two of these cadmium plated nuts with our Ball Joint Kits for 2000 and newer Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 4x4 trucks with Dana 60 or AAM 925 Front Axles.
There are a total of four QU10602 nuts on you Ram pickup, two for the drag link and 2 for the tie rod.

Applications
Tech Note 1: Factory Tie Rod
The self-locking nuts used on the factory tie rod and drag link ends are NOT reusable! These nuts are designed to be used once and only once as they lose some of their locking ability with each use.
Tech Note 2: Fits
QU10602 is the current Lock Nut cataloged by Chrysler for all 2003 and newer Ram 4x4s with the American Axle 9-1/4" beam type front drive axle. Some trucks were built with QU10685 Lock Nut which has a nut with more threads, an attached rotating flat washer and a red nylon lock ring.
