Tech Note 1: Only Fits Dana 60
QU10594 only fits Dana 60 beam front axles in 2000 to 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks. Four Bolts are used on each side. Use either a 9/16" or 14mm 12 point socket to remove or install the bolts. I always use Threadlocker on the threads. My 2001 Dodge Factory Service Manual lists the bolt torque as 122 lb.-ft. (166 Nm). Length from flange face to end is approximately 55mm.

Tech Note 2: To Remove Hub Assembly
The first time a 2000-2002 Dodge Ram 2500, Ram 3500 Dana 60 front axle has to comes apart, it is usually an absolute WITCH to separate the wheel hub assembly from the steering knuckle as Dana did not use any anti-corrosion compound between the wheel hub flange and steering knuckle. Sometimes you can pull the entire hub off with QT1072 puller and sometimes the hub separates and is wrecked. By now, most of these axles have been apart before so the good news is, if your axle was properly reassembled, the hubs should come off with no trouble at all.

Tech Note 3: Ball Joints
Unlike 1994 to 1999 Dodge Ram trucks, 2000-2002 Ram 2500, Ram 3500 front axle ball joints are tightly pressed into the axle itself, not the steering knuckle, so you can't use a shop press like the 94-99 trucks. If you are replacing your ball joints, I Strongly recommend you use TS1065 Ball Joint Press Set.

Tech Note 4: Right Axle Shaft
If you are removing the right axle shaft on an axle with Central Axle Disconnect (CAD), engage four wheel drive before starting disassembly. This will slide the CAD shift collar to the left and onto the differential output shaft splines. If you pull the shaft in 4x2 mode, the shift collar will drop out of position. If this happens, remove the CAD shift unit from the axle and align the collar. Always replace QU40090 CAD Housing Gasket if you remove the CAD Shift Housing.

Tech Note 5: Differential Cover Pan Gasket
It is a good idea to remove the differential cover pan and drain the diff oil before pulling the left axle shaft to prevent gear oil leaking out of the seal after the axle shaft is removed. Available genuine Dana gaskets are:

Tech Note 6: Seals
Given the era of trucks these bolts fit, if you remove the axle shaft, it is recommended you replace the inner axle seals which can become hard and brittle with age. For Inner Axle Shaft Seal Kits with oil seals and installation tools see: QK4621 2000-2002 with CAD and QK4802 2002 non-CAD.
Left Seal, All Years: Pressed into the left axle tube next to the differential for all years. Differential removal is required. Use QU40298 Seal.
Right Seal, 2000-2002.5 with CAD: Pressed in the axle tube outboard of the CAD shift unit. CAD shift unit and right axle shaft removal required to replace seal. Use QU40271 Seal.
Right Axle Seal 2002 without CAD: Pressed into the right axle tube next to the differential. Differential removal is required. Use QU40298 Seal.
