QT1048 18" Axle Shaft Seal Installation Pull Rod for Dana & AAM CAD Axles

QT1048 18" Axle Shaft Seal Installation Pull Rod for all 1988-2002 Dodge full size models, 2013-up Ram 3500, 2014-up Ram 2500, and and 1984-1986 Jeep XJ plus early production 1987 Jeep XJ and YJ 4x4's WITH vacuum controlled Central Axle Disconnect (CAD). Rod is used to pull Front Axle Shaft Seals into place in conjunction with the appropriate Inner Axle Seal Installer and Axle End Plate. 5/8" diameter. Heat Treated Steel Rod is rated at 125,000 psi tensile strength. Includes American made, certified Grade 8 Hardened Nuts and Washers! Shaft and Hardware USA Made.

Tech Note 1: High Quality Rod
We often get asked; "Why don't you just use regular all thread rod and hardware to save a few bucks? The answer is simple. Durability! If you are only going to use the tool once, the standard, soft, 36,000 psi, mild steel all thread rod would maybe work fine, or maybe not. But for repeated use, the friction between the installer and rod would quickly mash the threads on those cheap hardware store rods and your money would be gone. We make our tools to last. Using heat treated rod, and domestic, certified hardware, gives us the confidence to supply our QuadTools to anybody! Tech Note 4: Jeep CAD
For Jeep, QT1048 ONLY works on 1984-1987.5 XJ or early 1987 YJ models with CAD. These early production CAD axles use QU40105 Seal which has a larger diameter compared to 1987.5 and later axles. All 1984-1986 Jeep CAD axles use QU40105 Seal. The only 1987 axles that used QU40105 was on early production XJs and YJs. All other 1987 Jeep Dana 30 CAD axles have the smaller Seal included in QK4624 Kit. If you have a 1987 XJ, check the axle Bill of Material (BOM) number which is stamped on the front of the right axle tube next to the differential housing and also on a metal tag held on by the two farthest right differential cover bolts before ordering parts.
