Ball Bearings: The Front and Rear Output Ball Bearings on all NP205 Transfer Cases are the same. There are 3 different Input Shaft Ball Bearings used on the various NP205 models. Remote Mount (Divorced) Transfer Cases use the same Deep Groove Type Ball Bearings Bearings as the output shafts. Deep Groove Bearings can handle both combined radial/thrust loads for power transfer plus additional thrust loads from driveshaft articulation. All direct mount NP205 models were designed to use Maximum Capacity Input Bearings which can handle high input torque loads and speeds. Max Capacity Bearings have shallow groove races so TK50119 must not be used for output or remote input applications even though it has the same ID/OD as TK50105.
Needle and Tapered Roller Bearings: All New Process NP205 Transfer Cases uses the same Taper Bearings and Rear Output Shaft Support Bearing. On 82-87 GM synchronized units, only the rear output Low Gear is supported by bearings. Synchronized front output low gears have a Bushing. Different Front Output, Rear Needle Bearings are used depending upon if the case is synchronized or not.
