Dan the Gear Man® Tech Notes:
Before Removing
Safety Notes:
Applications

Tech Note 1: Before Removing
Before removing your old ball joints, you MUST clean out dirt and crud from the area between the ball joint and edge of the steering knuckle counterbore before placing the Ball Joint Receiver in position. The Receiver must be able to seat against the steering knuckle. Failure to remove any packed in material will result in major tool damage!

Safety Notes:
Using any type of press can be dangerous due to the forces applied to both the tools and parts. Always wear eye protection. Most workplace safety has to do with having some mechanical experience and plain common sense. If you do not know how to safely work on your vehicle, have the work performed by a professional automotive technician!

Exactly what you need. The rental tools from the auto parts store will not work on Dana 50 and 60. Also, need the longer "C" frame or a hydraulic press to install. The standard "C" frame you get from HF or local store is probably too short to use to install ball joints. Spend the money on the right tools and make ball joint replacement easy!

    Works great!

Just what I needed to do ball joints on a Dana 50. The rental tools from the auto parts store would not have worked. Even the "4wd" kit. This does need the long C press, as the typical ones were not big enough. The "standard" C press will work for removal, and then I used my shop hydraulic press to install. If you don't have a shop press, get the larger C press from Torque King.
