Tech Note 1: Versions
New Process made at least three slightly different versions of these four bolt retainers. The difference is the outer reinforcement webs. Most Transfer cases with 1-7/8" hub diameter front output yokes (some Ford and Dodge with CV shafts) have a slinger that will hit the reinforcement webs on new QU10686 Retainers (no longer available) unless they are modified. The modification is simple, just cut or grind back the webs by 3/8”.
