Tech Note 1: Always Replace
Always replace the cup and cone at the same time. The matching Bearing Cone for model 60 and 61 axles is QU50407. The matching Bearing for Dana 70U series axles is QU50408.

Tech Note 2: Before Installing
Installing bearing cups using makeshift methods such as a hammer and punch usually results in nicks in the bearing cup and a gouged housing. For a damage free installation, use QT1805 Bearing Cup Installer to seat this cup in your axle housing.

Tech Note 3: Bearing Configuration
Dana 70 Axles were built with two different inner pinion bearing configurations. Until about 1980, the inner pinion bearing cup diameter is 4-1/8". QU50406 fits Dana 70U and 70-2U axles which were introduced in 1980 Fords, followed by Dodge and GM starting in 1984. Dana 70U series axles have inner pinion bearing cups with a diameter of 3-1/2".

Tech Note 4: Cup Fits
QU50406 fits 1973-1987 GM 14 Bolt rear axles. 1988 R and V series, old square body style 3500 series Chevy and GMC trucks were built with both 1st and 2nd design, 14 Bolt full floating rear axles. This Bearing Cup fits 1973-1988.5 1st design axles using an inner pinion bearing cup that is 3-1/2" in diameter and have a matching Bearing of QU50408. 1988.5-up Second design axles have an inner pinion bearing cup diameter of 3-3/4" and use Bearing Cup QU50692.
