Description
QU50097 Axle Beam Pivot Bushing fits either left or right axle beams on 1980-1996 Ford Dana 44IFS and 1980-1997 Ford Dana 50IFS Front Axle. One of these Bushings gets pressed into the inboard end of each axle beam. Sold individually. Order 2 to do both axle beams.

Tech Note 1: Press Part
QU50097 Bushing is a press in part. In the early days, I usually took the axle beam out of the truck and pressed them out with a shop press, but later on, after we started manufacturing tools, I used our QT1065 Ball Joint Press with a set of special adapters we made up.
Tech Note 2: Wait to Torque
Do not torque the axle beam pivot bolt until the truck weight is fully on the axle. If you torque it down with the axle beam hanging, excessive twist will be put on the rubber bushing when the weight is back on the axle, which will shorten the life of the part. Hang a note on the steering wheel to remind you to do this before the vehicle is driven!
