QK4770 Front 4x4 Spindle Nut and Washer Set includes genuine original equipment parts for Dana 44 (Dodge, Ford), GM 10 Bolt (Chevy/GMC) front drive axles. This Set was used on many SUV's, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton Chevy, Ford, and GMC trucks with serviceable wheel bearings. GM used QU40429 from 1982 to 1991, Ford Dana 44IFS axles had QU40429 off and on from 1981 to 1996. Dodge used it from 1980-1984. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Automatic Locking Hubs
QK4770 was mainly used on vehicles with available automatic locking hubs. The four tabs on QU40429 Washer engaged 4 slots in the automatic hub body.

Tech Note 2: Fits 1-5/8” Thread Dia.
QK4770 fits spindles with thread diameters of 1-5/8". The component parts are: QU40004 Inner Spindle Nut, QU40429 Spindle Nut Lock Washer, and QU40031 Outer Spindle Nut.

Tech Note 3: Pin
The pin that protrudes from the outboard face of QU40004 Inner Spindle Nut is an anti-rotation device that engages with one of the holes in QU40429 Spindle Lock Washer. Installing the lock washer without having the pin engage one of the holes will either break or bend the pin. Improperly installed nuts and washer sets can back off during vehicle operation and possibly cause the hub and wheel assembly to fall off which may lead to severe injury or death.
