QU40256 Dana Spicer Dana 44 and Dana 60 Red Plastic Lockout Hub Dial is a genuine original equipment replacement dial for the big, factory installed, 6 bolt, external mount Spicer lockout hubs used on 1972-1977.5 Ford F-250. These new old stock Red Dials were made for Ford, but the Dial is functionally interchangeable with the no longer available Blue and limited availability Yellow Dials used by GM from 1972.5 to 1977.5. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: Weakness
The usually reliable, original equipment Spicer Plastic Dial hubs were massive things, but they did have a weak spot with the dial which may crack around the two small cross pin holes especially in cold weather or when the hubs are packed with excessive grease.
Tech Note 2: Matching Cap and Bolts
QU40256 Red Dial has a decal with the legend FORD and it will physically fit Spicer original equipment Ford and GM external mount lockout hubs that have the Plastic Dial in QU40546 Chrome Outer Cap which is bolted to the truck with 6 QU40257 3/8 Hex Socket Bolts.
Tech Note 3: Out of Production
Spicer made external mount Plastic Dial free-wheel Hub-Locks from 1972 to mid 1977. These Hubs were the factory original equipment parts for both Ford and GM 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks with Dana 44 front axles. They were also used on Ford F-250 Crew Cab trucks with Dana 60 closed knuckle front axles from 1974-1975. Most parts for these hubs have been out of production for decades so parts availability is becoming quite limited.
