Tech Note 1: Washer Location
QU40049 is installed between each differential pinion mate gear (the ones your cross shaft goes through) and the differential case. These parts should always be replaced if they are scored, pitted, or cracked.

Tech Note 2: Before Installing
Coat both sides of the Thrust Washers with petroleum jelly before installing them in the differential.
