Tech Note 1: Before Installed
QU40041 is installed between each differential side gear (the ones your axle shafts splines go into) and the differential case. These parts should always be replaced if they are scored, pitted, or cracked.

Tech Note 2: Coat Washers
Coat both sides of the Thrust Washers with petroleum jelly before installing them in the differential.
