Applications
Tech Note 1: Use
QU20201 Nut Lock Key is ONLY used on axles with QU20200 Spindle Nuts and Ford factory 3-bolt cap automatic locking hubs. The short bent tab fits in the spindle slot and one of the nut slots to lock the nut in place. Ford Identification number is 3B549.
Tech Note 2: Replace
If you find ANY damage or wear to your existing Hub Keys, replace them! Hub Lock Keys are the only part that keeps your spindle nuts from coming off when you are driving! Back in the days when I was a line mechanic, I made it a policy to install new locks anytime I had the wheel hubs off. It is pretty cheap insurance against losing a hub and wheel assembly.
Tech Note 3: Installation
Wheel Bearing Spindle Nut and Lock Installation for 1995-1997 Ford F250, F350 Auto Hub Locks:
A. Install Nut on Spindle (Both left and right nuts are right hand thread to install, turn clockwise).
B. Use torque wrench and QT1058i socket to Torque QU20200 Nut to 50 lb.-ft. while rotating the wheel hub.
C. Back nut off 1/4 turn and retorque to 25 lb. in. (Note this setting is in INCH pounds!).
D. Locate slot in spindle nut closest to spindle key slot.
E. ADVANCE nut clockwise so the next slot in nut is aligned with left side of spindle key slot.
F. Install QU20201 Key into the nut slot and spindle key way. QU20201 Key MUST be pushed in until the curved portion of the key is seated in the counter bore machined in the face of QU20200 Nut.
Tech Note 4: Replacing Auto Hubs
If you are replacing your auto hubs with QU56011 or any other manual hubs, you MUST replace QU20200 Spindle Nut and QU20201 Spindle Nut Lock with QK4729 Round 4 Slot Double Spindle Nut Set.

Had part when I needed it most, at an absurdly reasonable price
I unfortunately forgot to ask for the gentleman's name who took my order, I wanna say he said it was Chris when he answered the phone, eitherway the gentleman who helped me was not only complete familiar with my particular set up enough to be able to respond promptly without taking time to look through a reference manual, but he was also able to walk me through the next logical step which is to convert to Manual hubs and away from the auto lockers... He was everything a boss and a customer could want out of someone handling incoming calls to a business without being pushy, or "salespersony".. just seemed like a genuine dude that knew his shit... such a rare experience these days that I was kinda left dumbfounded by whole situation lol... definitely locked down a customer in this guy for the forseeable future.....Good $hit Guys... Previse owner converted my 1997 f350 to locking hubs. The only issue is they didn't change out the spindle lock nut system. Well the retainer broke and the nut started backing off causing the hub to be loose. I looked everywhere and this was the only place I could find these that offered fast shipping. Had them the next day and they fit great.
