Tech Note 1: U-Joints
The two u-joints included with QU10978 CV joint have 1-3/16" cups and are made to Spicer 1350 dimensional specifications and they are larger than the 1-1/16" cup diameter u-joints/1330 series CV u-joints used for early production 2003-2004.5 factory shafts. The front u-joint also has 1-3/16" diameter cups and it is larger than the original Saginaw S44 front u-joint with 1-1/8" diameter cups.
Tech Note 2: 2005 Models
Early production 2005 model year Ram trucks with the six speed manual transmission were equipped with the New Venture NV5600 which has a cast iron main case. Later production 2005 model Rams have the G56 which has an all aluminum case. QU10978 fits the early production trucks with the NV5600. If you have a 2005.5 or newer Dodge Ram with the G56 6 speed, see QU11232.
Tech Note 3: Grease
The CV Center Ball can be greased with QTA9405 or similar needle nose grease gun adapter.
Tech Note 4: Tube Length
Length of Tube from Center of Weld to Center of weld is approximately 19" (+/- 1/8").
