The 1982 Chevy S10 and GMC S15, designated the GMT-325 chassis platform, were the first American built midsize pickups. GM followed these models the next year with the Sport Utility Chevy S10 Blazer and GMC S15. From 1982-2004, the GM S-Series would undergo one major sheet metal redesign (1994 GMT-355 platform) and a number of body variations, but the basic chassis configuration was retained throughout the production span. The S-Series models were replaced by the Chevy Colorado and GMC Sonoma starting with the 2004 model year.
