International used right drop New Process 205 remote mount transfer cases from 1969 until light truck production ceased in 1975. The NP205 is a cast iron, gear drive transfer case with a 1:1 high range and a 1.96:1 low range. It is considered by many to be the strongest transfer case ever factory installed in one ton and smaller 4x4's.

The NP205 (IHC Code T142 or 13142) replaced the New Process NP202 (IHC Code T141 or 13141) which was only used by International. Although the NP202 and NP205 are similar in exterior characteristics, most parts are not interchangeable between the two models. Some tell-tale external differences are:
NP205 has 6 Bolt PTO Cover. NP202 has 10 Bolt.
NP205 Shift Rails are left-right. NP202 Rails are in vertical plane.
NP205 has 3 Bolt Rear Idler Shaft Cover. NP202 has no Cover.

International NP205 transfer cases have 32 spline Input and Output Shafts. For most applications, the Input and Output Yokes are sized for Spicer 1310 series u-joints, however V8 powered 1 ton models will often have larger 1350 series yokes for the Input and Rear Output. Some late production 200 trucks may also have a 1350 front output yoke.

During the 1969-1975 Time frame, IHC also offered the T143 Single-Speed Transfer Case.
